There is no creaming or beating in eggs in this simple drop cookie which combines the favorite flavors of chocolate and oatmeal.
for Dessert
Time to prepare: 10 Minutes
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. EACH baking soda and salt
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 3/4 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
1/2 cup EACH raisins, chopped walnuts and semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

Mix flour, baking soda, salt, brown sugar, oats, raisins, waltnuts and chocolate pieces.

Stir in oil, water and vanilla.

Drop by heaping teasponnsful 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets (cookies will spread).

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until browned. Let stand for about 1 minute. Carefully remove to wire racks to cool. Store airtight.

Makes 3 dozen cookies

Melt 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces to frost cookies, if you like.

Cookies are thin and crisp.
